The ChangYe Construction Group, a Chinese construction company, has been selected as the general contractor and primary investor for the new airport project in North Bali, which is valued at $3 billion. The PT BIBU Panji Sakti company, responsible for the project’s implementation, signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese partners this week at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing.
Additionally, Erwanto Harivibowo, head of PT BIBU Panji Sakti, revealed that according to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the government plans to build a 60-kilometer road connecting the new airport to the Gilimanuk-Mengwi Highway, which is also under development but still in the funding stage.
While the road project remains in the planning and financing phase, it seems premature to discuss the construction of a second highway to the northern region. Without securing the necessary financial resources for the roads, the realization of both infrastructure projects may face delays.
